Just One Itsy Bitsy Resolution? Pleeeeeease

This isn't for the Dave Letterman top ten, nor necessarily for you.  This is MY resolution, and mine alone.  I hereby resolve to take one day a week off from work.  Totally.  No notes.  No computer.  Certainly no business plan writing.

This is the one thing that I do believe will add most to the quality of my life.  And ultimately, it is a quality of life that we are all after.  Income, yes.  But even more we want quality of life.  This is why so many thousands of entrepreneurs have shifted to home businesses.  You just cannot believe the difference it makes in Life until you try it.  How about
calling up a buddy you haven't talked with in a long time?  Sure, it is ok at work, but at home you can talk an hour or more, and make up the work time later if you want to.  How about doing the laundry while you work, or picking up kids after band practice at school.

Life is more than business.  That is a truism that far too few corporations embrace.  Life is real people, doing real things.  In our world of single parent homes and double incomes, keeping it real becomes the challenge.

And I for one spend entirely too much time on business.  Since my computer, my phone, my work is always there, right there with me, it is easy to turn work into a 24/7 proposition.  I hereby resolve to deliberately turn it off one day a week and simply enjoy the people and the beauty around me.

I do hope you do the same.  But whatever you do, do find a way to make Life more "yours".
