Tuscon has a non-profit group called The Desert Angels. But it is only the group that is non-profit, not the individuals involved. These folks continually scour the legendary Arizona landscape, looking for great investments in high tech and low tech.

Desert Angels rarely invest solely on their own. They often look for cooperative investment with other angel groups or venture capital groups. As a small group, they just don't have the massive resources of a venture capital firm to research a company, its background and its potential, so it relies on the larger partners to do that.

But these investors have connections. Catch their eye and they will point you to exactly the right investment group, and possibly become an investor themselves.
