This is just what webmasters and business plan writers need to spruce up their works -- images, then more images, then even more images. Business plans may never be the same again.

I love it when public libraries do it right. The New York Public Library often gets its right. And this time they've come out with an online treasury of tens of thousands of digital images.

The scope is astounding. Being New York, there are lots of arts related photos, even Broadway stuff. There's a strong focus on American historical images, with people, places and things. There are also illuminated manuscripts, Japanese prints, maps of all sorts.

The collection is searchable a number of different ways -- from a search box, by drill down through the various collections, or browsing an alphabetical index.

Not every business plan writer or webmaster is going to be able to take advantage of this collection, but many can. Kudos to the librarians at New York Public Libary for a job extremely well done!!
